Thereby, considering legislation, engineering constraints, and yacht structures and superstructures. Resulting in a Microsoft VBA add-on tool that could be implemented in the engineering process.       Master internship: design of a multi-beam optical stress sensor

      As part of my master Mechanical Engineering, I designed a Multi-beam Optical Stress Sensor. The project was realised as a part of the PhD project of MSc. R.F.M. Martens at the TU/e, under supervision of dr. ir. J.P.M. Hoefnagels. Within this project vibration measurements, in the nanometer range, were performed. With these measurements, the design of the MOSS was conceived. This design was subjected to multiple Finite Element Analyses (FEM) and cross-referenced with the vibrational measurements. Thereafter, the design was altered to better suit the operational environment. The final result of the project was rewarded an 8.5/10 score. The completion of this project marks the beginning of my graduation project. Show less

      Experimental research to unravel the formation and growth of wear particles on silicon wafers on the micro/nanometer scale. As part of the Active Contamination Control for Equipment and SubstrateS C (ACCESS-C) project, which is a collaboration between VDL-ETG and TU/e. In which I am responsible for the experimental setup, experimental testing and analysis and post-processing of the experimental results. Towards understanding the material behaviour of ultra-thin freestanding membranes. To understand the material behaviour of ultra-thin membranes, the residual stress within the membrane is to be understood. Bulge testing is used to obtain radii changes that define Young's modulus and Poisson's ratio. Which in turn lead to an understanding of the residual stresses within the membrane.
