I developed a new blog for the company using WordPress. I took the project from its conception, researching the company’s competitors, through the design stages, making key editorial decisions about the style and direction the blog would take.I contacted authors suggesting they write current articles that relate to their recent publications. Once the blog was up and running I use the analytic features in WordPress to produce monthly reports about how the blog was doing. The blog has become a great platform for the company’s authors to present accessible articles to the online public. It has proved a great indirect marketing tool that has vastly improved the company’s online profile. Show less

      Jun 2013 - Aug 2014
      Editorial assistant

My role as an Editorial Assistant was largely outward, customer facing, I made sure manuscripts were ready to be sent to the production department, this involved working closely with authors and editors to resolve any queries, I arranged for reviews of manuscripts and relayed their feedback to commissioning editors.I was responsible for writing blurbs and obtaining promotional quotes from academic peers. These tasks require an ability to work well with people, I feel I have excelled most in this area; I would establish relationships so that people feel they can rely on me and approach me honestly. I also worked closely with the law team to help develop new types of law books, such as the Practitioner and Commentaries series. This involved working on complicated structure layouts and unique designs, they have required me to work closely with commissioning editors and authors. I was responsible for copy editing all marketing material that was released. I also developed, maintained and reported on the company blog (see more information below). Show less

I worked closely with the management team on bids for new contracts. I acted as a researcher for the background of a project, then as an administrator, preparing all the commercial information, and copy editing the bid before it was submitted.I developed a database for capturing all expenditure information which is now used in a monthly report I produce. I assisted in the management of the company website, which has developed my basic HTML skills. It was my responsibility to register and prepare extremely sensitive documents for which I am security cleared, it often involves using Adobe Suite.I prepared the monthly accounts for bookkeeping and am responsible for all aspects of human resources including health and safety and personnel management Show less

I am responsible for growing and managing an in-house content team. Having previously outsourced content production to other agencies, I was tasked with developing an in-house team to improve quality. The team now consists of five freelance writers and two full-time content assistants. I manage the team's schedule and budget. As a company, we now offer high-quality content and have the ability to produce articles across a wide variety of niches such as retail, health and education. I work closely with clients to develop annual or quarterly content plans for both on-site content and link building ideas. I am responsible for the company outreach strategy; I decide which influencers to contact on behalf of our clients and how to contact them. I manage a small team who use an email marketing platform to contact sites and then negotiate the terms of a content partnership. I write and produce bespoke content to build clients’ profiles as an authority. More recently I have managed social media campaigns for some of our high-profile clients. This involved managing the logistics of paid for advertising campaigns on both Facebook and Twitter. Show less I was responsible for editing articles for our clients. This involved not only checking grammar and spelling thoroughly, but also ensuring the style and tone met the client’s brief and objectives. As many of the articles were specifically produced for link building purposes, I would make sure they were fully optimised for search engines. This involved making sure relevant keywords were used, and that anchor text and landing pages were correct. I was responsible for developing and writing pitches which would be used to target key influencers on behalf of our clients. This involved identifying the USP a client offers and how to present it in a way that would appeal to a prospective influencer. I utilised outreach software to discover prospective influencers and used an email marketing system to target the pitches I developed to them. I vetted new blogs and influencers against quality filters. Using metrics such as Domain Authority and Trust flow and taking into account domain history, I would decide if a site would be an appropriate fit for a client. Show less
