  Chelsea's was founded as a family business in 1986 in Historic Downtown Greer by a mother/daughter team--Brenda Price and Tarra Godfrey. Growing up in the retail environment of Smith & James--her father's menswear store--it had always been a dream of Tarra's to open up a boutique of her own. After graduating Anderson College with a degree in Fashion Merchandising, her dream became a reality when Chelsea's opened its doors. As business grew, her mother Brenda Price, decided to come on board full-time at Chelsea's--switching from her full-time career as a branch manager of a local bank. Tarra's unique eye for fashion and merchandising combined with Brenda's business experience proved to be a dynamic team that flourished. A few years later, a second Chelsea's location opened at Woodruff Gallery shopping center on Woodruff Road in Greenville, SC. As this area of Greenville expanded, the Shops at Greenridge was developed as the heart of shopping on Woodruff Road in the early 2000's. Chelsea's relocated to this booming location and shared the same roof with the new 2nd location of her family's menswear store--Smith & James. This shared location continued to grow until reaching its peak in 2011 when it expanded to the corner site of the shopping center--doubling in size. The Greer location continues to flourish as Historic Downtown Greer comes to life with fine dining establishments and increasing nightlife. Show less
