After a rigorous application process and more than 200 applicants, only 30 explorers from around the country were selected to attend for each federal agency including the DEA, FBI, Secret Service, and the US Army. On the application, it asked us to put the agencies in order of which one we wanted the most and I selected DEA which was the… Show more In July 2015, I was honored to attend the National Law Enforcement Explorer Leadership Academy in Quantico, Virginia with the Drug Enforcement Administration. After a rigorous application process and more than 200 applicants, only 30 explorers from around the country were selected to attend for each federal agency including the DEA, FBI, Secret Service, and the US Army. On the application, it asked us to put the agencies in order of which one we wanted the most and I selected DEA which was the agency who selected me. At this conference, I heard from phenomenal speakers, several of which acknowledged me for my fundraiser. Besides listening to speakers, we got to go hands on in team building, leadership, and public speaking activities, as well as bust down doors and see mock methamphetamine and ecstasy labs. It was a once in a life time opportunity and I am extremely honored that I got to experience this. Show less
