      As Employee Assistance Coordinator I am responsible for the PEER Support Team, The TIC Team, PART Team and Chaplains and Mental Health Providers.I respond 24-7 to all officer involved shootings, injuries to officers, or other traumatic events officers are involved in. I assist officers and their families in times of need or stress. I monitor and assign PEER, TIC, PART and Chaplains to officers or events as needed.I plan yearly and ongoing training for members of EAP.I am trained in Critical Incident Stress Management, Debriefings, Defusings, Suicide Prevention,and Line of Duty Death.I have assisted in and set up numerous debriefings for officers of the Portland Police Bureau, Rainer Police Department, Eugene Police Department, Fairview Police Department, and Woodburn Police Department.I have been involved with and assisted in multiple Line of Duty Deaths, and suicides.I develope and instruct educational curriculum such as knowing your EAP, Preventing Problems with Alcohol during your career. and Stress Management. This curriculam is presented at yearly In-service and the Tri-County Sgt's Academy. Show less

      Life Saving Medal Portland Police Bureau May 2012 While off duty and out with friends, a man fell to the floor. I checked him for pulse and breathing. He had no pulse and was not breathing. I told bystanders to call 911, go outside to flag down responders. I began CPR and continued CPR until responders arrived and took over. The man was taken to OHSU. He survived.

      Unit Commendation Award Portland Police Bureau May 2010 Unit Commendation Award issued to members of the Portland Police Bureau's Employee Assistance Program. The award recognized the PEER support team, TIC team, and PART members, for their ongoing support of officers in need of assistance.The award also recognized members volunteer service to outside agencies such as Woodburn Police and Rainer Police during their critical incidents.

      Life Saving Medal Portland Police Bureau Nov 2007 Life Saving Medal for rescuing a man and his dog from a pack of viscious dogs in an enclosed area. Along with two other officers we entered the enclosed area. The victim was being attacked by 5-6 Great Danes. He had been bitten repeatedly and was on the ground still being attacked. As we entered the enclosed area the pack of Great Danes came at us. They were maced repeatedly and kept at a distance. We managed to get the man and his very badly mangled dog out of the enclosed area.       Unit Commendation Award Portland Police Bureau May 1998 Unit Commendation Award, awarded to members of the Drugs and Vice Division for a long term narrcotics investigation in Oregon and California. The investigation lead to the arrest and Federal Conviction of multiple people for the illegal transportation, manufacturing and selling of narrcotics.
