Conducting a comprehensive planning study of Erbil city in Kurdistan Region to expand it to a population of 2.5 million by 2030 (existing population of one million), to plan its future development within its regional context, to recommend long-term options for its development, to outline the necessary actions that ensure the orderly development of expansion areas within urban limits, to preserve and upgrade the heritage, and to prepare an implementation strategy for the Master Plan, including the identification, de scription a d prioritization of key project s in the next five years (short-term), the provision of recommendations for institutional development, and the preparation of zoning map and regulations.• South Jazira Irrigation Study, Iraq. Feasibility study, site reconnaissance and data collection at Mosul Dam, and South, North and East Jazira Irrigation Areas. Financed by JICA.• Kurdistan Region Highway Master Plan, Iraq. Design, implementation and analysis of traffic surveys and road inventory; analysis of existing demand and transport infrastructure conditions; development of traffic mode ling; and formulation of a Highway Master Plan for the improvement of the road network over the coming two decades, covering new roads, road improvement, maintenance strategy (roads and bridges) and periodic road maintenance plan.
