  Summer Trainee - Advisory - Payments Transformation

  As a trainee in the Payments group of the PWC-Advisory, I worked on consulting projects dealing with financial inclusion and business, regulatory and technology aspects of electronic payment companies. Through my work, I gained an appreciation for the potential of electronic payments in India and am looking forward to deepen my knowledge in this field.

  As a final year student in the Dual Degree program, I held teaching assistant (TA) roles in the undergraduate laboratory on Chemical Reaction Engineering and in a graduate-level course on Multivariate Data Analysis. I headed a 50-member strong student media body reporting actively on the events related to the institute. T5E, as the abbreviation for The Fifth Estate goes, enjoys a strong readership among students, parents, faculty and alumni for publishing diverse, thoughtful and appealing content. In my tenure, our team succeeded in expanding this following by ~6K people on social media. Relative to teams over the years, we also managed to produce 25% higher content. Immerse, with a mandate to convey and simplify academic research, is a one-of-its kind popular science magazine amongst all campuses in India. In my tenure, our team grew the magazine from covering a handful of stories to those of all the departments. In the process, we made the magazine a flagship publication that the institute features on it's website, and presents to research scholars, professors and any visiting dignitaries. I looked over the preparation of as many as seven sports teams for the annual Inter-IIT Sports Meet, leading to a marked improvement in IIT-Madras' overall standing. As a member of the Sports Organizing Committee, I also initiated a inter-hostel women's sports championship on campus.
