PhD advisors: Drs. Chris Moy, Claudine Stirling, and Gary Wilson My PhD research reconstructed patterns of the Southern Hemisphere westerly winds recorded in marine sediments from New Zealand's fjords. Using a suite of geochemical tools, I developed a high-resolution late Holocene record of wind variability. My goal was to understand the climatic forcing mechanisms that drive variability (e.g., the Southern Annular Mode) and to link variability from the southwest Pacific to other regions within the westerly wind belt.

I drive research and commercial partnership strategy to deliver ambitious climate mitigation targets through Nature-Based Solutions. My team focuses on unlocking high-quality carbon credits through novel ecosystem pathways (e.g. blue carbon, agriculture, wetlands, etc.) and through development of cutting-edge monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) technology. We recognize that the establishment of a trusted, transparent, scientifically robust carbon marketplace is a collaborative effort; in light of this, I constantly seek the best partnership opportunities to deliver our ambitions. Exibir menos I am thrilled to leverage my 10+ years of experience in climate research, geochemistry, and the global carbon cycle to address the urgent issue of anthropogenic climate change. In my current role in the Biodomain team, I support Shell's nascent Nature-Based Solutions business in screening and managing projects that offset greenhouse gas emissions through nature. Our mission is to offset emissions that cannot be reduced, performed in tandem with an industry-wide decarbonization effort. My specific work focuses on screening emerging opportunities in the nature-based solutions space, such as "blue carbon," or coastal and marine ecosystems that sequester large amounts of CO2. I also support the development of new technologies to monitor, report, and verify carbon credits generated through such projects. Exibir menos
