May 1994 - Nov 2013• Responsible for meeting production targets• Oversee that the maintenance team come and have it repaired to assure that the plant keeps running and that it gets fixed. • PLC and Electrical fault finding• Maintain parts stock levels• As the plant was automated I will program the PC for the necessary formula needed for the particular products. • Product costings• Responsible for the planned maintenance of the plant and planning a schedule. • As the product gets manufactured it will go into the warehouse where I will manage the stores to ensure that we always have ample space and if need be I will order a transporter to have it shipped to the factories. • I was responsible for ordering all the raw materials as needed to the value of ± 2.5milion to insure we never ran out.• I set up a time schedule for a three-shift system so that the plant ran 24/7.• I will once a week look at the clock cards and forward this to the payroll department.• Managed and coordinated time off as needed by staff for unforeseen problems. • Training schedule management• Managed the shift supervisors daily• Quality checks are done regularly• Every two months all the safety reps and I will have a meeting to ensure the company complies with the health and safety act (OSH) and that all previous minutes of the meeting was fixed or resolved. • I will have an induction meeting every year or after a prolonged time from work with all the staff regarding health and safety. • I was responsible for interviewing employees as demand changed or the firing of an employee that was uncooperative. • The company was also part of the BEE employment equity as stipulated by the government and I was responsible for appraisals and performance throughout the year.• I will once a month on excel send all expenses and output reached to the financial director as to profit or losses for the month. Show less Technical LAB technician for 5 years, working both day and night shift doing all the quality control checks for all the different process in the manufacturing of the electrical cables till the time it gets shipped off. Responsibilities- Tested all the copper drums to insure that it meets the specification required.- Weighed all the drums to see if the correct weight was supplied as per the invoice.- As the cable gets manufactured on all the different machines I will go and make sure that the operators is running the right specs as stipulated on their job cards.- I will go to the coiling department and insure that the cable is coiled to 100m and that it undergoes its final test true the spark tester.- I will then go to the stores and inspect all the palletized cable, to insure that it meets the shipping piking slip for the different customers before it gets shipped.- I will then load all the pallets on a truck for delivery to all the different customers.- During all this I will collect samples at all the different processes and test the cable to insure that it complies with the SABS specifications.
