      Performance Manager, National Roads Telecoms Services (NRTS)

      My role was to undertake a programme of regular and ad hoc audits on the performance of the National Roads Telecommunications Services (NRTS) services, systems and processes. The NRTS contract operates and maintains over 22,000 telecom services, to meet the needs of Highways Agency technology schemes and initiatives with more services being added all the time. Areas of responsibilities included:• Audit Programme. Manage the entire audit programme and perform regular and ad hoc audits on the performance of the NRTS services, systems and processes. This includes writing audit process documents, scheduling resources and auditors.• Compliance Program. Where new non compliances are identified against the contract, managing the process and rectifications programmes. Escalating where appropriate.• Performance Reporting. Monitor and report on all NRTS Services to the National Performance Group on a monthly basis. • Service Credits Regime. On a monthly basis all NRTS services outages are audited and subject to a financial penalty or exemption based on contract criteria. • Risk Management, all risks within the contract are identified and managed via a risk register. Key risks are discussed at the quarterly contract review board.• Continuous Improvement. Manage a lessons learnt register for the contract that ensures that areas of improvement are captured and implemented in future processes and projects.• Cable & Metal Theft. Manage the theft database for the National Traffic Technology Division, producing charts and maps for the HA Board and capturing information for future strategy. Also liaising with external organisations such as British Transport Police and BT.• Facilitate in dispute resolution between NRTS contractors and other third parties.• Checking works and invoices worth in excess of £50M a year.
