Ict project manager for telecom nz

Through this consultancy I have been placed with Telecom and have worked in three different Programmes. The majority of this time has been spent with the Undertaking Programme which was put in place to ensure Telecom meets its Regulatory Requirements from the Government. This role has required me to own the Workstream and work with the Business owner to ensure: • Working with the Architecture team to confirm the design process is being adhered to and documented correctly• Deliverables are timetabled appropriately• Risks and Issues are managed and reported effectively to ensure effective resolution or mitigation• Testing is scheduled and undertaken in a timely manner• All project documentation is completed to the high standard expected by Telecom• Project Governance actions are dealt with swiftly to prevent any delays to the Project• Attending meetings to manage the Defects and Production Support issues• Managing the developers to keep them focussed on the Project Scope• Working with the Service Provider Groups to develop and maintain processes & procedures to transition projects in BAU Show less

    • Crown law office

      Apr 2013 - Jun 2013
      Project manager

This role was for a short term intensive programme of work to relocate Crown Law’s IT infrastructure into the Ministry of Justice building. The project had different project management approaches through each part of the lifecycle and I joined during the build/delivery phase, with the Programme Manager utilising PRINCE2 to ensure successful delivery. The primary part of the role was to introduce consistent reporting and planning across each part of the programme to ensure that dependencies and deliverables could be tracked effectively. The role was especially challenging as very little ‘best practice’ had been established and identifying the level of oversight required to monitor the programme had to be done quickly.A secondary part of the work was also to provide a governance framework for any new projects initiated after the move. The framework laid out the core project artefacts that should be generated during the project lifecycle, as well as allowing for customisation depending on the complexity and dollar value ensuring the governance was proportional.I also undertook to plan the pipeline of work for upcoming projects, including planning the upgrade to Windows 7 & Office 2010 and the compatibility of Access databases. In addition to the core tasks I also carried out a number of project management tasks including:• Liaising with the building facilities manager to provide interlocks with the IT programme• Vendor management for the video and audio conferencing• Financial analysis and forecasting• Documentation including project, programme and departmental status reports• Reviewing the Project Initiation Documents Show less
