From cleaning the grow rooms, to making up bags ready for growing mushrooms, organising and running on-site mushroom markets and creating content. It is a symbiotic relationship - I work to help grow the business, but the very act of working for grown Up Mushrooms (previously Chideock Champignons) has been of huge importance and growth personally. Nestled in the depths of Dorset, Grown Up Mushrooms ensures strong working relations with local businesses to provide the very best locally grown gourmet mushrooms. Show less

    • Mercato Italiano

      May 2020 - Nov 2021
      Market Manager

During the course of the pandemic, after a short stint at being a security guard!, I worked for the local company Mercato Italiano. A family run business that imports food produce directly from Italy, I was in charge of running the weekly markets in three locations throughout Dorset and Devon. I was in charge of stock and cash handling, coordinating with suppliers as well as the physical side of setting up and selling. This role was one that I thoroughly enjoyed, and felt privileged to have during such intense times. It enabled me to build strong community ties, learn a lot about Italian food, and become even more interested in the sourcing and sustainability of food products. Additionally, I created content for Mercato Italiano's social media presence (Instagram and Facebook) as well as updating the website, and creating regular newsletters. Show less
