  I started as the first UX Designer hired by the company and I took part in the design process for different kinds of interfaces: corporate and general public websites, intranets, extranets and applications for desktop, Microsoft Surface, iPhone, iPad and Android devices. Activities included sessions with customers (to gather requirements, receive feedback and identify their needs and desires), assessments, benchmarks, surveys, information architecture design, interaction design and traffic data analysis. I also designed several presentations both for customers and for internal use. Among them there is the one used to introduce UX Design skills to prospects.In addition to everyday design activities, I was responsible for time management for the growing team, as well as verifying the deliverables to guarantee consistent quality across all the projects.   Beintoo was a vibrant Italian startup which provided a platform for a cross brand loyalty program that rewards people interacting with their favourite mobile apps. I was the first UX Designer hired by the company and was part of strategic meetings since the very beginning. I helped the company clarify its targets, goals & redefine the whole experience of the beintoo service and its touchpoints. Afterwards I redesigned the company's main assets (Mobile App and Rich Media Units) according to the strategy.I also helped it in shaping the internal workflow to include a UX Designer and improve overall efficiency.   I helped organize a couple of TEDxBeaconStreet events and an Adventure Catalyst Workshop.I took care of diverse aspects of the organization including:- organizing speaker rehearsals;- being the stage manager;- designing some of the digital & print assets;- designing the introductory slides for each speaker;- being Adventure co-leader in an adventure for Adventure Catalysts;- designing the booklet for the Adventure Catalyst Workshop;- managing some of the content on the website.The 2013 conference was a success, with over 2500 attendees from 100 countries viewing the Livestream feed and providing very positive feedback.The Adventure Toolkit is now opensource and has been distributed both to the Adventure Catalysts and to every attendee. People were captivated by the fun fact posters I scattered all through the venue and some of them found their own fun facts featured too and were proud of it.In many ways volunteering for this cause was a great decision: I got to meet awesome people and I felt I was doing something that had value and meaning for everyone who participate.   Upon moving to the US, I decided to give myself some sabbatical time to explore a field I’ve always been fascinated by: the food industry. I started this journey in my kitchen and built a small portfolio of dishes and techniques to showcase my passion. That portfolio got me into Bergamot, one of my favorite restaurants in the entire Boston area.I started out as an apprentice and in 2 years was running both the Garde Manger and the Pastry stations. As part of my daily activities I was trusted to design and execute a compound butter, an amuse bouche for the tasting menu and some parting morsels. Since these items would affect our customers' first and last impressions, I felt the responsibility and took the job very seriously. Show less

  Tasting Counter is an innovative 21-seat fine dining restaurant in the heart of Somerville. Open since 2015, it’s been already awarded Boston Magazine's "Best of Boston" Best Fine Dining Restaurant twice in a row (2016 & 2017).While at Bergamot, I was also doing daily internships at other places in order to better get the industry vibe, and Tasting Counter was one of them. When I was offered a job as a prep cook, I jumped at the opportunity to check out what it meant to work in a fine dining restaurant. There I learned what it takes to prepare flavor- and presentation-perfect dishes and I was trusted to make improvements in the prep tasks I was assigned and register them in the common recipe book for future reference.
