      I was employed in the wholesale department of this company. Rennies Travel is the largest retail travel network in South Africa. This role involved dealing with just about every aspect of booking holidays and business trips such as Car Hire, Hotels, Tours, Cruises and Flights. Our clients were exclusively the retail branch network of Rennies Travel which, at the time, numbered in excess of 200 locations throughout the country.       I was headhunted to this company for the purpose of setting up what is called a General Sales Agency specializing in selling rail travel throughout the word with an emphasis on the UK and Europe. The clientele were almost exclusively other travel agencies who were selling our rail passes on to their clients as add-ons. I was involved in many key aspects of setting up the agency including : ** Creation of the look and feel of the website. I do not have any experience in the technical aspects of website creation but have a lot of experience in the design elements of websites as well as the various degrees of functionality that all websites require.** Creating and maintaining the various rates manuals for the fairly extensive range of products that we offered. Since we were dealing with many multiple currencies, I had to ensure that the rates manuals were always as up to date as possible taking into account currency fluctuations** I spent a significant amount of time liaising with suppliers from Japan, throughout Europe, England and America. This involved ensuring that pricing was competitive as well as product innovation. We introduced several new products to the South African travel industry during this time.** Although the team was small, we operated 6 days a week and I had to ensure that we were always adequately staffed.
