Several projects that I have been involved in include 1) Biosynthesis and improvement of squalene production in B. subtilis. 2) Analysis of how the C30 carotenoids pathway affects the metabolism of B. subtilis by non-target metabolomics studies. 3) Investigation of the rate-limiting factors for sesquiterpene production in B. subtilis by CRISPR-Cas9 genetic engineering. Frequently used skills and techniques are: plasmids construction, transformation, protein expression and purification, western blotting, natural product extraction and detection by GC-MS; Highly familiar with SnapGene, GraphPad Prism, Origin, Primer, DNAMAN, Endnote etc. Show less
