      • Lead the Children’s Surgery Verification (CSV) Program at Connecticut Children’s Hospital, reporting directly to the Chief Surgical Quality Officer. Guide the continuous improvement of hospital systems, drive quality across surgical disciplines, and ensure the hospital continues to meet standards as a Level 1 CSV Center. • Capture and monitor quality metrics for patient safety events across the institution, analyze data to identify trends and improvement opportunities, and report findings to leaders at monthly Quality Committee meetings. • Headed the initial effort that prepared for and successfully obtained Level-1 (CSV) through the American College of Surgeons (ACS), making Connecticut Children’s the only hospital in the state to hold this distinction. Significantly improved data collection, brought together pediatric disciplines to improve quality metrics, developed policies and care processes, and ensured trained staff and systems were in place.• Serve on a team developing a PDSA (Plan, Do, Study, Act) action plan and conducting Root Cause Analysis activities to improve quality following a patient safety event. Act as the Surgical Services representative on hospital committees to supply surgical data and relay information to the Chief Surgical Quality Officer.• Standardized the Morbidity and Mortality (M&M) Form utilized during monthly meetings and created a process that enabled the consistent monitoring and measurement of quality and safety events across all surgical divisions. • Established a Surgical Multidisciplinary Committee which meets monthly to evaluate system and clinical issues. Brought in liaisons on the committee from each surgical division, broke down institutional siloes, and bridged divides. Helped improve care clinically, and at the systems-level by working together to develop best practice care processes, clinical care guidelines and algorithms.
