  A specialized service in the Northeast Office is the service to women who are incarcerated in the Philadelphia Women’s House of Correction. The program provides parenting education to women who are pregnant and incarcerated. Before and After School programs are offered on site and in neighboring parishes, servicing approximately 70 children each day. A variety of youth and parenting groups are offered.

  The Valley Youth House Bucks Shelter utilizes an individualized, brief counseling and crisis intervention model within a Positive Youth Development (PYD) framework. Services are provided by a culturally competent and diverse group of counselors and therapists. Services include case management, individual, family and group counseling, life skills education, adventure-based experiential education and recreational activities, and therapeutic follow-up and aftercare services. Nearly 100% of the youth report that they felt safe while living at VYH, staff were supportive and helpful, and there was a genuine investment in the young people served. Show less

  Clinical intern on senior behavioral health unit

  Holy Redeemer Hospital's Senior Behavioral Health Unit (SBHU) provides short-term, intensive, inpatient treatment 24 hours-a-day. The SBHU is designed for patients aged 65 or older who are experiencing psychiatric symptoms (e.g. hallucinations, delusions, panic reaction, anxiety, agitation, depression) severe enough to cause disordered, bizarre behavior or psychomotor retardation resulting in significant interference with activities of daily living. Patients experiencing disorientation or memory impairment severe enough to endanger the welfare of self or others are treated as well.Our interdisciplinary team of mental health professionals includes a psychiatrist, psychologists, activities therapists, psychiatric nurses, physical therapists, social workers, and occupational therapists. The team assesses each patient entering the program and designs an individualized plan of treatment to assist patients in achieving their optimal quality of life. Show less

  Through group psychotherapy, psycho-educational seminars, medication management, and individual counseling, consumers receive individualized treatment designed to assist them in achieving their goals. Programs are customized with specific attention to consumers’ unique needs. Services support consumers in the Forensic Intensive Recovery (FIR) Program — and others who are court-stipulated — in meeting their criminal justice requirements.
